The ordinary is never only ordinary.
A look held too long, shoes left by the door, a forehead kiss—small moments can hold an entire love story.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Poetry for the things we feel
but never quite know how to say.

HER STORY
Annie Small is a Florida-based poet and author of children’s stories and chapter book adventures. She finds the extraordinary tucked inside everyday love: a look held a moment too long, shoes left by the door, a heartbeat louder than every thought.
She writes about love, motherhood, memory, transformation, and the quiet courage it takes to believe that no one is truly unlovable.
Her work follows butterflies, sunlight, wildflowers, and the universe—because sometimes the fundamental structure of spacetime might be a love story.
THE NAME
“Annie” began with Ann.
“Small” is the name of the life
she is choosing.
Annie Small is more than a pen name. It carries where she came from and where she is going—a name rooted in love, becoming, and home.

WHERE THE STORY BEGINS
The Way He Won My Heart preserves poems, remembered words, and moments almost exactly as they happened. It is the story of being found, understood, and finally allowing yourself to be loved.
The book is the first chapter of Annie Small—not the whole story. Her growing bookshelf includes poetry, Nora & Sissy’s picture book adventures, and the chapter book Cameron Squared.
